New Song World Premier

Well it happened at The Marine at Saltburn last night, the World Premier of ‘The Muddlebury Beagles’.
I was told it was instantly real and comedically successful. What more can one want from a first, unpolished outing. I told you they were nice people at Saltburn.

Update on new song

Finished the new song (for now), “The Muddlebury Beagles” and will perform  it at The Marine at Saltburn. Their a kind friendly lot there. Just the right spot for a first outing, warts and all.

New Song on the way

I’ve spent the day creating a new song. It is only in a very rough draft stage. It’s a lighthearted song about beagling (very unfashionable) which tells it as it was not like the usual the triumphal hunting songs. It’s a matter of recording things before they are forgotten, a very important function of a bard and folk song writer.

Tom Bliss and Chris Parkinson -White Hart, Mickleby

I went to Mickleby Folk Club to see fellow singer/songwriter Tom Bliss in action. When you write songs that tell stories in a traditional way, like the Bards of old, and then have to listen to some of the modern folk songs you start to wonder why it is they  aren’t labelled ‘Pop’ but Tom’s songs are genuine. He has a real feel for the power of a story to speak for all time. I wish him well for his new album which will be available any day now. This is why he is one of my friends on www.myspace.com/tonymorrismusic

Tom Bliss and Chris Parkinson -White Hart, Mickleby

After a beautiful, sunny day in Whitby I am off to listen to Tom Bliss and Chris Parkinson at the Mickleby Folk Club at the White Hart and perhaps to sing one of my songs. Great little Club, great venue, lovely people.
